As previously announced, three of our Board of Directors' positions are up for election in 2021. Please note that no petitions to run for the Board of Directors were received by the March 3, 2021 deadline.

Since nominations will not be accepted during the meeting, voting this year will be done by acclamation during the 67th Annual Meeting on April 14, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. As stated in our previous email on February 2, 2021, the Annual Meeting will, similar to last year, be held virtually.

The following have been nominated to serve three-year terms:

John Schwalbach (incumbent) – Global Bonding & Joining Lean Value Stream Manager, Automotive & Aerospace Solutions Division
Mr. Schwalbach began his career at 3M in 1991 and has served on Novation's Supervisory Committee from 2005 until 2019, when he was nominated to the Board of Directors. He attended the University of Wisconsin Madison where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering. He lives in Hudson, WI.

Daryl Thoennes (incumbent) – Operations Manager, 3M Hutchinson
Mr. Thoennes has been with 3M since 1997 in a variety of manufacturing roles and locations. He joined the Novation Board of Directors in December 2019. He attended Southwest Minnesota State University where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management. He lives in Hutchinson, MN.

Dawn McGinley (incumbent) – Program, Policy & Communications Leader, 3M Global Security
Ms. McGinley joined 3M in 1984 working the first half of her career in Health Care businesses and the second half in International and other corporate roles including Marketing, Communications, Six Sigma, Human Resources, 3Mgives, and now Global Security. She attended Gustavus Adolphus College where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications/Journalism and added Marketing coursework later. She lives in Marine on St. Croix, MN with her husband and two sons attending college.

In 2021, three of our Board of Director positions are up for election.

The following have been nominated to serve three-year terms:

  • Dawn McGinley (incumbent) – Program, Policy & Communications Leader, 3M Global Security
  • John Schwalbach (incumbent) – Global Bonding & Joining Lean Value Stream Manager, Automotive & Aerospace Solutions Division
  • Daryl Thoennes (incumbent) – Operations Manager, 3M Hutchinson

If you wish to be considered as a candidate for Novation’s Board of Directors outside the formal nominating committee process you must submit an official petition signed by at least 20 and no more than 500 Novation members. Petitions must be submitted by March 3, 2021, to Novation’s Supervisory Committee. Please note that nominations will not be accepted from the floor at the Annual Meeting. If you wish to run by petition, please call (800) 369-6628 to obtain the necessary forms. Voting instructions and statement of qualifications for each candidate will be available on our website and sent by email on March 5, 2021.
