Accounting Specialist
We are now hiring for the new position of Accounting Specialist to develop and manage the accounts payable function and to assist with other accounting, general ledger and financial reporting duties. This position will join the accounting and finance team reporting to the CFO.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum two-year degree (four-year degree is preferred) in an accounting field, and at least three years related experience. Additional qualifications include:

  • Highly skilled in Microsoft Excel and proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook and accounts payable software.
  • Demonstrated understanding of accounting concepts and experience with accounting software.
  • Understanding of the Automated Clearinghouse (ACH).
  • Attention to detail and the ability to manage deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze information for problem solving or process improvement.
  • Proven ability to understand written correspondence and procedures, to write detailed instructions, and to present information to peers, managers, and other stakeholders.
  • Ability to work as part of a team to ensure that necessary tasks are completed on a timely basis.

Financial Solutions Officer
Are you looking for an opportunity to make an impact on someone’s financial life? Novation Credit Union is looking for a talented, experienced, energetic, people focused Financial Solutions Officer (FSO) to join our St Paul branch locations.

We consider our Financial Solutions Officers (FSO) to be our “go-to resource” for servicing all of our members’ needs. Besides generating new members, their primary role is to make consumer and home equity loans (take applications, underwrite and close loans), open new accounts, create long-term member relationships by cross-selling products/services and finally, providing excellent service that is second to none. An FSO must possess the following traits:
  • Member focused and the ability to enjoy interactions with people.
  • Lending knowledge that includes underwriting decisions.
  • Professionalism displayed through attitude, attire, and written/verbal communication with members, non-members and staff.
  • Thorough knowledge of Novation’s products and services, and the ability to identify and cross-sell appropriately to members. 
  • Proven Sales experience.
  • Cooperation, dependability and flexibility.
  • Personal initiative and motivation.
  • Excellent listening and communication skills (including written).
  • Problem solving skills.
  • Close attention to detail.
