Changes to Zelle® and Use of P2P Payment Services
The Zelle App is Being Discontinued
If you have used Zelle® for person-to-person (P2P) payment services, you are likely aware that the standalone Zelle app is being discontinued after March 31, 2025. From that date forward, users cannot send or receive payments directly through the Zelle app.
Zelle is Not Available Through Novation’s Online or Mobile Banking Platforms
Novation Financial does not currently plan to support the use of Zelle within our own online or mobile banking platforms. We recognize the convenience such P2P services provide, but also constantly evaluate the risk such services pose for our membership related to potential fraud and the responsibility for dealing with the impacts of fraudulent activity.
Exercise Caution Using P2P Payment Services
Other standalone P2P apps remain available including Venmo, PayPal, Cash App, and more, and can be used regardless of your financial institution. We recommend the following tips for keeping your money safe when using them:
- Use two-factor authentication when offered
- Never give away your login information
- Only send money to people or businesses you know and trust
- Double-check and verify you are sending money to the intended person or business
Other Electronic Payment Options
External transfers and member-to-member transfers are always available for your convenience through our eBranch Online and Mobile Banking.
We are continually reviewing payment solution offerings and looking for the best fits for our members’ convenience and protection.
